An extreme wedge shape, upward-opening gull-wing doors and an unusual and striking paint job: In September 1969, Daimler-Benz caused a stir with the presentation of the C 111 experimental vehicle at the Frankfurt IAA. And the super sports car from Untertürkheim also set standards in technical terms. The body was made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic and was riveted and glued to the steel frame floor system. Experience from racing was used for the wheel suspension and the drive unit was a three-disk Wankel engine that developed 280 hp and enabled a top speed of 270 km/h - a remarkable performance for the time. Record-breaking runs were carried out again and again with the C 111, culminating in several world records over various distances. The miniature model of the experimental vehicle is a successful imitation of the original and impresses with its paint job in an authentic color and a true-to-original representation of all interior details. The model is mounted on a printed base and surrounded by a presentation box. It is delivered in Mercedes-Benz Classic design packaging.
